The Gender Monitoring Office (GMO) and Uyisenga ni Imanzi (UNM)  signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening collaboration in enhancing  gender accountability to  gender equality, empowering women and youth, and improving support services for survivors of Gender-Based Violence (GBV), human trafficking, and child abuse.

Both Institutions committed to enhance promote mental health awareness, psychosocial well-being and fight against GBV

The partnership also seeks to enhance the provision of therapy and psychosocial services to GBV survivors, including teen mothers, their children, and families, while strengthening accountability for gender equality and quality service delivery at both national and decentralized levels, ensuring that no one is left behind.
Through the collaboration, the two institutions will work together to promote mental health awareness, psychosocial well-being, and resilience among children, youth, caregivers, and communities. This will be achieved through public awareness campaigns, life skills development, and strengthening supportive social environments that enable vulnerable groups to thrive.

Speaking during the signing ceremony, the Chief Gender Monitor, Umutoni Gatsinzi Nadine, emphasized that the partnership represents a shared commitment to protecting vulnerable communities and advancing gender equality.

"This partnership reflects our shared commitment to advancing gender equality and ensuring that survivors of gender-based violence, human trafficking, and child abuse receive the support and services they deserve. Together, we are building stronger systems that leave no one behind while promoting mental health and resilience within our communities," she said.
The Executive Director of Uyisenga ni Imanzi, Mr. Uwizeye Prince, noted that addressing gender equality goes hand in hand with promoting mental health and creating safe and supportive environments for families.
"Promoting gender equality also means investing in mental health, psychosocial well-being, and safe environments for children, youth, and families. Through this partnership with the Gender Monitoring Office, we will work together to strengthen communities and foster hope, resilience, and inclusion," he said.

The partnership establishes a framework for joint interventions in advocacy, capacity building, awareness campaigns, psychosocial support, and community engagement. It will also strengthen collaboration in supporting victims of GBV, human trafficking, and child abuse while contributing to Rwanda's broader efforts to promote gender equality, social inclusion, and sustainable development.

The Gender Monitoring Office (GMO) is a constitutional institution established under Article 140 of the Constitution of the Republic of Rwanda. Its mandate is to effectively monitor gender mainstreaming and fight against Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and related injustices to achieve gender equality, in accordance with Law No. 51/2007 of 20 September 2007 determining the responsibilities, organization, and functioning of the Gender Monitoring Office.
About Uyisenga ni Imanzi
Uyisenga ni Imanzi (UNM) is a Rwandan non-governmental organization founded in 2002 to support the self-improvement of genocide orphans by addressing their psychosocial and socioeconomic development needs. Today, the organization promotes psychosocial well-being and socioeconomic empowerment for vulnerable populations, including children, youth, teen mothers, and families.
